American Legion First to Reopen After 2009 Blast
No one will ever forget the March 5th, 2009 explosion that cost one woman her life and severely damaged, or in several cases completely destroyed, many Downtown Bozeman businesses. It was a shocking occurrence that left not only Bozeman, but much of Montana reeling in the aftermath. For the last twenty months we have all watched as these businesses struggled to rebuild, repair, reopen and regain the business that was lost in the midst of an already struggling economy. Many of these businesses have had success in moving to other locations, but the businesses that have been forced to rebuild from the ground up are only just now beginning to come into fruition.
J&V would like to congratulate the American Legion Post #14 on it's recent opening in it's brand new building. We were lucky to be able to work closely with general manager Tom Jones in order to bring his plans into fruition. J&V provided Tom with all of the equipment necessary to provide a full service bar and seating downstairs as well as a modern kitchen upstairs that will help Post #14 pull off any members function without a hitch. J&V was able to use many (almost all in fact) pre-owned/refurbished equipment items in order to help the Legion cut down on their rebuilding costs as much as possible.
So far, the new American Legion is looking to be a success. Doors are open to the public Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to close and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to close. The Legion is once again offering music on Friday and Saturday nights with the added bonus of live bands, including Comstock Lode and the Clintons, in the future. Such a major reconstruction project obviously comes wtih major costs, so the Legion will be offering a Music Series Benefit in order to raise money to help with the new building. The series will run from January through May of 2011 and will be held at the Grace Bible Church located at 3625 South 19th in Bozeman.
The Legion will also be offering a Thanksgiving Feast this year. Dinner starts at 3:00 pm and is free and open to the public. Just one more event that makes the American Legion an integral part of our community and I think J&V speaks for everyone in saying..... WELCOME BACK!! Join the American Legion Post #14 family at..... 225 East Main Street Bozeman, Montana 59715 (406) 586-8400
